If time allows, Niobrara National Scenic River is a national park worth visiting; a scenic lake like Green Lake is a magnificent spot to have a look at. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Lord Lakes reach the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while Lord Lakes overnight low temperatures through       the wintertime are in the 0's. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Snake River, and Lord Lakes is a good lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Snake River Area Campground is a tremendous local campground, and sites like Powderhorn Valley are perfect to have a look at. If you came for an overnight stay Steer Creek Campground is a great spot to camp.
