At DeSoto Lake you always meet someone from Omaha-Council Bluffs. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great planet it would be. You'll come across a pretty lake called De Soto Lake near DeSoto       Lake; a spree to Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail is recommended. You'll need more than a day to look at everything DeSoto Lake has to offer, you can camp at Wilson Island State Park, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Copper Creek Connector Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Desoto Bend Trail, and lakes are such peaceful spots, why not have a look at Lone Tree Lake. Summertime brings                  highs in the 80's to DeSoto Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at DeSoto Lake fall into the 0's. While you're here at DeSoto Lake you can take a hike along the Boyer Chute Trails, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Missouri Valley.
