Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Snake River, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Valentine NE. So much exciting stuff to do at Clear Lake, so little time. This lake is so wonderful. If time allows, Niobrara National Scenic River is a national park worth going to, and Clear       Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Fishberry Campgrounds is a great local campground. Clear Lake is not the only location close by, Dewey Lake is a close by lake, naturally you could also pop by Trout Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Clear Lake is pretty dehydrated typically; July is when you get the most rain here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime highs at Clear Lake frequently tend                  to be in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's.
