Custom Search     Board Gate Dam Reservoir     I like this lake, it's very beautiful and peaceful. And is located in what is in my opinion the most beautiful part of Nebraska. It's a quite small lake by any standards, I'd say about 15 acres, maybe 20. It's in the middle of the Oglala National Grassland so there's of course all kinds of hiking and camping near the lake. I don't know of any campground right on or very near the lake, if there was I'd go there all the time. Says Dave Camping is available     at Toadstool Campground; hiking is a popular thing to do around Board Gate Dam Reservoir; Toadstool Trail is a great local trail.
