A brilliant place to camp here at Bastron Lake is Sunrise East Campground; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Scottsbluff. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Chimney Rock Golf Course is always a diversion. Bastron Lake is pretty dried out ordinarily; May is the wettest month with most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All through       the summer highs here at Bastron Lake reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Through the winter highs are frequently in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Bastron Lake temperatures sink to the 10's.
