Throughout the long summer days at Youngs Pond temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Youngs Pond dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Swamps don’t sound that good but Black Swamp near Youngs Pond is relatively good; camping       is available at Lazy Acres. While you're here at Youngs Pond you will meet lots of folks from close by Dunn, and obviously, this is a magnificent region for folks who like lakes, Wests Pond is a lake close at hand. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Youngs Pond. Camping at Fayetteville Koa is always a tremendous experience, and the American Beech Trail is a good hiking trail close by. Youngs Pond is a wet spot that gets a                  good deal of precipitation; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and November is when it's the driest. There's whitewater on Little River for all you adrenaline junkies, and Sleep Inn ,Inn & Suites is a great location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Cape Fear, and going for a hike on the Campbell Creek Loop is always a great adventure. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Spring Lake-Ft. Bragg/Pope Afb is a great place to spend a night or two, and nearby you find the Fish Camp Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. Smith Lake Dam is scenic and it's close to Youngs Pond, and in all probability you're looking for nearby lakes?
