Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Mayo River - North Fork, and a nice close by hotel is Econo Lodge Eden. Paddling on North Mayo is so much fun; a golf course nearby is Ponderosa Golf Club. And that's not all you can do here at Youngs Lake. You could also pop by Tuttles Lake while you're here at Youngs Lake; it's nearby, and if you're dropping by from Martinsville, you won't be the only one. A lake nearby is Dumaines Lake. You don’t have to go far from Youngs Lake to observe the water at Youngs Lake Dam, and you can stay the night at Dan River Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Days Inn Eden is a good choice. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Youngs Lake | |

All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Youngs Lake throughout the winter typically dip into the 20's.

Dan River
 | 19 miles away Hwy 772 access as been roped off with No-Trespassing signs. This access is used a lot during the summer months, but evidently it is private property or someone is confused.
Thought I'd let you know this since it's only a few miles from my house. That's a nice place to get in the river, but evidently somebody don't like the general public to use it. ... |
