The high level of rain makes Wrights Pond a reasonably wet site; during the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest month is April. This lake is so wonderful. Wrights Pond is right by the Discovery Loop Trail; I F Rochelle Pond is a nearby lake that you could visit. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Roanoke River; after a long day outdoors Hilton Garden Inn Roanoke Rapids / Carolina Crossroads is a       great site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. The Summit Loop Trail offers hiking at its best. There's so much to do here at Wrights Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cattail Creek Campground is a nice location for that. This place, Wrights Pond, it absolutely has so much outdoors cool stuff. At Wrights Pond Dam next to Wrights Pond there are some out of the ordinary things to see, and if you're stopping by from Roanoke Rapids,                  you won't be the only one. All through the long summer days at Wrights Pond temperatures are commonly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's.
