After a long day outdoors Jameson Inn Roanoke Rapids is a brilliant site to spend a night or two, and close by you locate the Dam Site Loop Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Roanoke River, and at Wrights Pond Dam in the vicinity of Wrights Pond there are some interesting things to see.       All the water falling down from the sky makes Wrights Pond a wet site; during August this area sees the most rain, and April meanwhile is the driest month. Hilton Garden Inn Roanoke Rapids / Carolina Crossroads is a wonderful site to get some rest, and Wrights Pond is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Cattail Creek Campground is a great spot to camp nearby. Going for a hike on the Summit Loop Trail is always a good adventure, and lots of people from                  Roanoke Rapids come here. High temperatures at Wrights Pond through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and the night is a little chillier of course, ordinarily in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are frequently in the 40's while Wrights Pond night low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. If you like the outdoors, you'll go for Wrights Pond.
