Through the warm days of summer at Wood Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Wood Lake. If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Snowbird Creek; Days Inn Murphy is a nice location to get some rest. Camping is available       at Creekside Rv Park, and Fires Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the South Fork Citico Trail. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Wood Lake. Wood Lake Dam is wonderful and it's near Wood Lake; the peak of Brushy Head Mountain can be spotted from Wood Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Great Smoky Mountains. Go for a hike                  on the CHoga Trail; why not take a little trip to Allmon Branch while you're here. Wood Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; most of the rain falls all through March while October is ordinarily the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Wood Lake without first going for a hike along the Sugar Cove Trail, and you might also want to pay a visit to Locust Gap since you're here at Wood Lake. Wood Lake is a beautiful lake in the Great Smoky Mountains. So many fun things in the Great Smoky Mountains, just mind-boggling.
