He is now 80 years old and my sisters and brother and I would love to bring him there for a weekend so that he can show us where he lived etc. Is there a cabin or house rental company that we can rent a cabin for the weekend? These mountains rock, just explore all the fun things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. After a long day outdoors Sapphire Valley Resort is a great place to spend a night or two, and if you came for an overnight stay Pounding Branch Campground is a splendid location to camp. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is always beautiful. There is a brilliant hiking trail in close proximity to Wolf Creek Lake called the Foothills       Trail, and you can run the rapids of Toxaway River - Upper. Lakes are such calm sites, why not take a look at Tanasee Creek Lake near Wolf Creek Lake, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Toxaway Company Country Club is a golf course next to Wolf Creek Lake; Bracken Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting. Any time is a brilliant time at Wolf                  Creek Lake if you like the outdoors. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Smoky Mountain Inn, and why not camp at Wolf Creek Overlook since you're here at Wolf Creek Lake. The warmest time of the year at Wolf Creek Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's while night lows are typically in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Wolf Creek Lake. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Wolf Creek Lake. Cataloochee is a nice local ski area. Get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of Tuckasegee River, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Brevard. This lake is so wonderful. Wolf Creek Dam is charming and it's close to Wolf Creek Lake, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Art Loeb Trail. Wolf Creek Lake mostly gets a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is March, and October meanwhile is the driest month. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
