At Witherow Lake through the summertime highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Witherow Lake. Hanging Rock State Park is a great local campground, and do take a hike on the Moores Knob Trail. Witherow Dam is a site that is near Witherow Lake, and float       down the rapids of Big Creek in a kayak. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge King; hiking along the Cascade Trail is nice fun. Witherow Lake is a relatively wet place frequently with much rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July, and January meanwhile is the driest month. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn & Suites is a wonderful location to spend a night or two; why not camp at Moores Springs Campground on the Dan River if you're here at                  Witherow Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Witherow Lake you can see Brown Mountain, and there's some flowing water close by, Beaverdam Creek is a stream you can stop at while you're here. So many enjoyable things to do at Witherow Lake, so little time. If you come at the right time of year, Dan River offers some great whitewater; you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Cooks Wall Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
