You'll need more than a day to explore everything Wilson Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Blue Valley Campground; going for a hike on the Ellicott Rock Trail is always a great adventure. Glen Falls is a pleasant local attraction, and Clear Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out. Wilson Lakes is a rather wet place regularly with much precipitation; throughout March       this area sees the most rain; July on the other hand is the driest. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Wilson Lakes. There's so much to do here at Wilson Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Van Hook Glade Campground is a magnificent site for that; do stop at Wilson Lower Reservoir, it's a pretty lake. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful close by hotel is Old Edwards Inn and Spa, and if you come at the                  right time of year, Clear Creek offers some good whitewater. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. The scenery at Wilson Lower Dam near Wilson Lakes is delightful; there are some fine whitewater spots on Overflow Creek. This lake is so wonderful. There are magnificent places to look at along the Burrells Ford Trail; since you're here, you could also take a look at lovely Club Lake. All year is a splendid time in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you love the outdoors. Near Wilson Lakes you discover the Three Forks Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and the top of Brown Mountain is easily made out from Wilson Lakes. For the duration of the summer here at Wilson Lakes, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Wilson Lakes tend to be in the 20's. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hit the slopes at Sky Valley in the neighborhood. If you need a site to stay Hampton Inn Highlands NC is a good choice, and a fine location to check out is Sandy Gap. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, too delightful to be true.
