Whiteside Lake is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Scaly Mountain has pleasant slopes and a friendly staff, and Whiteside Lake Dam is not far at all from Whiteside Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is delightful here at Whiteside Lake, you can go for a hike along the Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail. Lakes? Sure, Allison Lake is in the vicinity. All year is a great time in the       Blue Ridge Mountains if you go for the outdoors. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things close to Whiteside Lake. You can run the rapids of Cullasaja River close to Whiteside Lake; there are other places here than Whiteside Lake, for example Hidden Lake. Man, is there a heap of enjoyable stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Sky Valley is a very popular ski area in the vicinity, and after a long day outdoors Old Edwards Inn and Spa is a brilliant                  location to spend a night or two. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, too fine to be true. Get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of Norton Creek, and Whiteside Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, Ammons Branch Campground is a great site to camp nearby. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. You can see Goat Knob from Whiteside Lake; playing golf is lots of fun at High Hampton Inn & Country Club. Through the long summer days here at Whiteside Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's while nighttime lows are generally in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Whiteside Lake. Whiteside Lake is a reasonably wet place ordinarily with a large amount of rainfall; most of the rain falls through March while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. A nice close by hotel is The Inn at Half Mile Farm, and since you're here why not take a look at Cowee Gap. On a great day at Whiteside Lake you can take a hike along the Shortoff Mountain Trail, and Van Hook Glade Campground is a great local campground.
