At Whites Lake during the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's, and the night is fairly cooler of course, ordinarily in the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's with temperatures at Whites Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Whites Lake. If you yearn for a little side tour,       try Porter Cove; after a long day outdoors Franklin-Days Inn is a great site to spend a night or two. Nearby lakes? Sure, Lake Emory is near Whites Lake; pretty scenery and good skiing is what you get at Sky Valley. Whites Lake commonly gets lots of rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; October on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A quick spree to Ammons Branch next to Whites Lake is a delightful idea,                  and Whites Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, Cullasaja River Campground is a great site to camp nearby. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Fort Cannon Campground is a nice local campground, and there's some out of the ordinary stuff to see at Whites Lake Dam near Whites Lake. A good close by hotel is Comfort Inn Franklin, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Gage Trail. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff truly is plentiful here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. What would winter be without some skiing at Scaly Mountain, of course you could also pop by Pine Hill Trailer Park Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Whites Lake. Near Whites Lake you come across the Stewart Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend nearby Franklin Golf Course; Cullasaja River is a splendid whitewater spot nearby.
