Hobbs Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by; you can run the rapids of Dan River. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Lambert Lake; why not camp at Humphrey's Ridge Camp while you're here at Whitaker Lake. There are plenty of people from Greensboro-High Point here at Whitaker Lake, and Greensboro-High Point Marriott Airport is a splendid place to get some rest. You don’t have to go far from Whitaker Lake to make out the water at Whitaker Lake

So much enjoyable stuff close to Whitaker Lake, simply tremendous. Dry warm beds await you at Embassy Suites Greensboro Airport; a golf course close by is Dawn Acres Golf Club. Summer at Whitaker Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight
here at Whitaker Lake. Rock Branch is a great local stream; a good site for whitewater paddling is Mayo River - North Fork.

Hwy 772 access as been roped off with No-Trespassing signs. This access is used a lot during the summer months, but evidently it is private property or someone is confused.
Thought I'd let you know this since it's only a few miles from my house. That's a nice place to get in the river, but evidently somebody don't like the general public to use it. ... |

We love sunset park. Rates are 15.00, and we bought firewood for 5.00 also. My boys went paddling on the paddle boat and swimming in the pond. We went hiking along a trail to see a big rock that was a part of pilot knob. Love the creek that ran thru the whole campground. Love the family atmosphere. ... |
