Nearby lakes? Sure, Lake Ann is in close proximity to Wheeler Lake. There are great locations to discover along the Tarheel Trail, and Horses to Harleys Campground is a nice local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Nelson Bluff is a picturesque place any time of year; Wheeler Lake is a delightful       site to visit for more than one day, Holland's Shelter Creek is a delightful site to camp nearby. The high level of precipitation makes Wheeler Lake a pretty wet place; through the month of July you get the most rain around here; the driest month is October. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Wheeler Lake is so good! Some nearby water includes Haw Mill Creek, and if you like swamps you're in luck, Raccoon Swamp is right close by. High temperatures at Wheeler Lake during the months of summer are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
