Wheeler Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; July is the wettest month with most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. Comfort Suites Leland is a perfect location to get some rest, and don't leave Wheeler Lake without first going for a hike along the History Trail. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Raccoon Swamp is right close by, and you can go for a hike on the Tarheel Trail. Now, you       may feel that's plenty but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Wheeler Lake. Wheeler Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Holland's Shelter Creek is a good place to camp nearby, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Toms Hole. Horses to Harleys Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and why not have a look at close by Haw Mill Creek if you're here at Wheeler Lake. This lake is so wonderful.                  A cool spot to have a look at close to Wheeler Lake is Sandy Bluff, and do set aside some time for Nelson Bluff while you're here at Wheeler Lake. Through the summertime months, highs typically are in the 80's at Wheeler Lake. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's.
