Very fine water scenery is available at West Pond Dam right next door to West Pond, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Lanier Falls Trail. People from Sanford love to come to West Pond, and in all probability you're       looking for close by lakes? Sure, Kiest Lake is just a very short distance away. West Pond really is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. Holiday Inn Express Spring Lake-Ft. Bragg/Pope Afb is a great location to get some rest, and you're probably addicted to lakes, Buffalo Lakes is one of those nearby. There's whitewater on Little River for all you thrill seekers, and close by you find the Northington Ferry Trail which is a good hiking trail. This lake                  is so wonderful. High temperatures at West Pond all through the warm days of summer are in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
