In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Tar River, and a tremendous close by hotel is Scottish Inns Henderson. A glorious location to camp here at Weldons Pond is Steele Creek Marina, and if you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Henderson is a good choice. Weldons Pond gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain       while November is commonly the driest month. For the duration of the warm days of summer here at Weldons Pond, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while Weldons Pond overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Weldons Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Nutbush Bridge Campground is a fine local campground; wonderful                  water scenery is available at Weldons Pond Dam close to Weldons Pond. Cattail Creek is a wonderful site to have a look at, and there are plenty of folks from Henderson here. This place is great, just check out all the entertaining stuff to do right next door to Weldons Pond.
