Ader Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth visiting, and Waggoner Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Sunset Park Campground is a great place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. The       Cascade Trail offers hiking at its best; not far from Waggoner Lake you'll find Inman Brothers Lake which is a delightful lake. This lake is so wonderful. Winston Salem-Days Inn North is a great place to get some rest, and Humphrey's Ridge Camp is a magnificent local campground. Waggoner Lake is a wet site that gets much precipitation; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. Good hiking is available along the Hanging                  Rock Trail, and there are other locations here than Waggoner Lake, for example Town Fork Creek Watershed Lake Five. There are plenty of people from Winston-Salem here at Waggoner Lake, and paddling on Dan River is so much fun. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Waggoner Lake, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Waggoner Lake tend to be in the 20's. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Waggoner Lake; Cooks Wall Trail is a perfect local trail, and drift down the rapids of Dan River in a kayak.
