This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Dogwood Trail; here at Turkey Cove Pond you can make out Bell Knob. Some of the water nearby flows, like Brooks Branch, and after a long day outdoors Master Hosts - Alleghany Inn is a splendid site to spend a night or two. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Blue       Ridge Mountains has to offer. Reddies River is a good whitewater spot in close proximity to Turkey Cove Pond, and you'll probably meet some folks from North Wilkesboro here. Throughout the warm months highs here at Turkey Cove Pond get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; nighttime lows at Turkey Cove Pond through the winter regularly plunge into the 20's.
