    Trout Lake is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. A quick spree to Hoot Camp Branch close to Trout Lake is a perfect idea, and not far from Trout Lake you get some magnificent water scenery at Trout Lake Dam. Camp Sky Ranch is a good local campground, and an afternoon playing golf at Boone Golf Club is always a pleasure. Man, is there loads of amusing stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Heart Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and  
   dry warm beds await you at Ridgeway Inn.
This lake is so wonderful. Near Trout Lake you find Sandy Flat Gap which is a magnificent place to pop by, and a good view of charming Bull Mountain is available. At Trout Lake you always meet someone from Boone, and Watauga River is a great whitewater spot close by. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Trout Lake. There is a great hiking trail next to Trout Lake called the Daniel Boone Scout Trail, and
 
               if you like skiing, you're in luck; Appalachian Mountain is rather near.
So much amusing stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, too great to be true. A lake nearby is Cone Lake, and a nice site for whitewater paddling is Boone Fork. Be careful coming to Trout Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. Honey Bear Campground is a great campground nearby, and a day on the slopes of Hawksnest is just what you need. All year is a perfect time in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you go for the outdoors.
Summer brings highs in the 70's to Trout Lake. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Trout Lake. Near Trout Lake you locate the Yancey Ridge Trail which is a great hiking trail, and if you need a place to stay Blowing Rock Victorian Inn B&B is a delightful choice. Trout Lake gets lots of water; most of the rain falls throughout May, and the driest month is December.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
