    If you like lakes and you're in this part of North Carolina you can check out Trout Lake. Don't forget to take a wonderful little visit to Hoot Camp Branch; soar down the rapids of Boone Fork in a kayak. Yep, outdoors fun stuff truly is abundant here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lakes are such serene places, why not check out Cone Lake close to Trout Lake, and why not head up to Appalachian Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. During the warmest time of  
   the year here at Trout Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 70's while night lows are generally in the 50's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the 40's; nighttime lows throughout the winter for Trout Lake tend to be in the 10's.
This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. The high level of precipitation makes Trout Lake a quite wet location; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most; December
 
               meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Watauga River offers some brilliant whitewater; while you're here you can take a hike along the Daniel Boone Scout Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Ridgeway Inn, and playing golf is lots of fun at Boone Golf Club. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Trout Lake. If you need a location to stay Blowing Rock Victorian Inn B&B is a good choice. There's so much to do here at Trout Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Honey Bear Campground is a brilliant site for that.
The top of Bull Mountain is easily seen from Trout Lake, and on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Yancey Ridge Trail. If you want a brilliant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Trout Lake Dam is a wonderful place in the vicinity of Trout Lake, and a good place to explore nearby is Sandy Flat Gap. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a tremendous time here at Trout Lake. The smiling people of Boone like to hang out close by, and there are other places here than Trout Lake, for example Heart Lake.
Hawksnest is a very popular ski area close by; you can stay the night at Camp Sky Ranch.
