And that's not all you can do here at Thompson Lake. Holiday Inn Express KERNERSVILLE is a great place to get some rest, and you'll hit upon a scenic lake called Lower Merchants Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dawn Acres Golf Club is a golf course close to Thompson Lake, and you're sure to bump into some fine folks from Greensboro-High Point here. Very       great water scenery is available at Thompson Dam near Thompson Lake, and there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Hanging Rock Trail. A magnificent spot to camp here at Thompson Lake is Humphrey's Ridge Camp, and there are great locations to discover along the Cooks Wall Trail. A great deal of rainfall falls at Thompson Lake; July is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is February. A delightful close by hotel is Dudley Inn and                  Conference Center, and do visit Upper Merchants Lake, it's a gorgeous lake. High temperatures at Thompson Lake through the warm months are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Thompson Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
