Get yourself into a kayak and hit Little River; why not have a look at Texas Pond Dam if you're here. If you come at the right time of year, Cape Fear offers some splendid whitewater; Texas Pond is a fine location to camp, Lazy Acres is a fine location. Near Texas Pond you stumble on the American Beech Trail which is a great hiking trail; during your visit here you'll meet some folks from Fayetteville       for sure. For the period of the days of summer at Texas Pond highs are commonly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Texas Pond. What a spot this is for outdoors people. After a long day outdoors Spring Lake/Fort Bragg Super 8 Motel is a splendid site to spend a night or two, of course you could also go to Simmons Lake since you're here; it's not                  far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Fish Camp Trail; King's Grant Golf Club is a golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
