Lake David is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and paddling on Catawba River is so much fun. Stay the night at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, and hiking along the Bald Mountain Trail is tremendous fun. Structure Number Eight Lake is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Big Camp Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth taking a look at,       and Catawba River - North Fork has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by.
