Connestee Falls Golf Club is a magnificent golf course close by, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Davidson River. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Hampton Inn Brevard NC is a nice spot to spend a night or two, and obviously Allison Creek flows through this region. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! Straus Lake is peerless!       Straus Lake is right by the Thompson Ridge Trail, and do put some time aside to spend at Dodsworth Spring while you're here at Straus Lake. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
