Go for a hike on the Cascade Trail, naturally you could also have a look at Scott Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great globe it would be. Stedman Lake is a nice site to visit for more than one day, Sunset Park Campground is a nice site to camp nearby, and don't leave Stedman Lake without first going for a hike along the Moores       Knob Trail. High temperatures at Stedman Lake through the summer months are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; during the dark hours in the winter at Stedman Lake temperatures drop to the 20's. If you need a location to stay Econo Lodge King is a great choice, and there are great places to look at along the Hanging Rock Trail. The scenery at Stedman Lake Dam near Stedman Lake                  is delightful; a splendid close by hotel is Comfort Inn Winston-Salem. This lake is so wonderful. Hanging Rock State Park is a great campground nearby, and Stedman Lake is not the only site nearby, Taylor Lake is a nearby lake. This lake is so wonderful. There are some nice whitewater spots on Dan River; Hemlock Golf Course is a brilliant golf course close by. All the water falling down from the sky makes Stedman Lake a wet place; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Take a side tour to Buck Island Creek; if you're going to from Winston-Salem, you won't be the only one.
