This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Asheville-Biltmore East@Blueri is a glorious choice, and Mama Gertie's Hideaway is a tremendous campground nearby. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Go for a hike on the Laurel Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at       nearby Brookwood Golf Club is a delightful way to kill some time, and do have a look at Cedar Mountain Lake, it's a pretty lake. If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are some great whitewater spots on Swannanoa River, and don't miss out on a spree to Blue Ridge Parkway while you're here. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. Going for a hike on the Shut-In Trail is always                  a great adventure, and the top of Cedar Cliff is easily seen from Spivey Lake. That right there is lots already, but it carries on; Spivey Lake has it all. Azalea Country Campground is a fine local campground, and you'll hit upon a striking lake called Woodall Lake. Yep, outdoors cool things truly is plentiful here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Wolf Laurel is a glorious local ski area, and unsurprisingly Ballard Creek flows through this region. During your journey to Spivey Lake you'll meet some people from Asheville for sure, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Rocky Broad River. At Spivey Lake throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. All through the wintertime highs are generally in the 40's; nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for Spivey Lake tend to be in the 20's. A tour to Ballard Gap is always fun, and there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Side Hill Trail. The skiing at Ski Beech is tremendous; dry warm beds await you at Asheville/North Carolina Days Inn.
