    In North Carolina there are many beautiful lakes, Speas Lakes is one of them. A stunning lake like Mallard Lake Lower right next door to Speas Lakes is a glorious site to explore, and the Cooks Wall Trail is a brilliant hiking trail nearby. A great deal of precipitation falls at Speas Lakes; through the month of July you get the most rain around here while November is ordinarily the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Dan River has a great whitewater paddling  
   spot close by, and going for a hike on the Cascade Trail is always a fine adventure.
Barkers Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth a visit, and a round of golf at nearby Grandview Golf Club is a magnificent way to kill some time. Paddling on Big Creek is so much fun. People from Winston-Salem love to come to Speas Lakes; there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Moores Knob Trail.
If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come
 
               on down to Speas Lakes. Do take a look at K and W Lake in close proximity to Speas Lakes, it's a stunning lake, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge King is a great location to spend a night or two. At Speas Lakes through the warm months highs are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Speas Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Piatts Lake Dam is not far at all from Speas Lakes. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Speas Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Jomeokee Campground.
If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Winston-Salem is a pleasant choice. There's so much to do here at Speas Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Serenity Stables and Campground is a good place for that.
