    Sparta Mill Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Through the summer highs here at Sparta Mill Pond get into the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Sparta Mill Pond. So much amusing stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not enough time. Why not check out nearby Bledsoe Creek since you're here at Sparta  
   Mill Pond. Lakes? Sure, Noname is around here.
This lake is so wonderful. Master Hosts - Alleghany Inn is a nice place to get some rest, and while you're here you can play some golf at Olde Beau Golf Club. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whitewater paddling is great on New River; while you're here you will meet lots of people from close by North Wilkesboro. Take a hike on the Perkins Knob Trail, and Sparta Mill Pond
 
               is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, New River Canoe Rentals is a perfect local campground.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area right next door to Sparta Mill Pond has to offer. Hiking along the Mountain Trail is brilliant fun, and dry warm beds await you at Galax Knights Inn. Camping at New River Canoe and Campground is always a glorious experience, and if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on New River. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Sparta Mill Pond; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. Sparta Mill Pond is right by the Dogwood Trail, and not far from Sparta Mill Pond you'll discover Temple Lake which is a picturesque lake. Sparta Mill Pond is one of the lakes here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Beautiful quiet Park one block from the New River and bike trail. Several points of interest; blue ridge music center, bluegrass jam sessions nightly, bike trail, antique shopping.  Great host and we will return.  Camp here in motorhome....

...h wheels without dificulty. All of our sites are prestene and well manicured, spaceous, level and dressed with pea gravel, and have full hook-up including cable TV and WiFi.

We are at the head of a rails to trail biking, hiking, horseback riding trail. The Trail runs from Fries to Pulaski, Virginia. Five miles down the trail from Fries is a 12 mile leg that takes you into Galax.

We are located five miles from Galax, Virginia, fifteen miles from Independence, Virginia, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Blue Ridge Music Center. Thirty-five miles from Grayson Highland State Park (scenic beauty, wild horses)and thirty-five miles from Floyd, Va (bluegrass music).

Activities and surrounded area. You may enjoy bluegrass music every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at different locations in the area (all within 15 miles of RV Park). Also you'll want to bring or rent a bicycle so you can enjoy the 57 mile bike trail. The trail is perfect for biking, hiking, birding, or just enjoying the scenic beauty.
