Econo Lodge Henderson is a brilliant spot to get some rest, and Southerlands Pond Dam is a pretty location. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not stop at Ayscues Pond in the vicinity of Southerlands Pond; Southerlands Pond is a nice location to visit for more than one day, Steele Creek Marina is a nice location to camp nearby.       There are other sites here than Southerlands Pond, for example Weldons Pond. Southerlands Pond gets much water; August is the wettest month with most rain, and April is when it's the driest. After a long day outdoors Ambassadors Inn and Suites is a great spot to spend a night or two, and a delightful place for whitewater paddling is Tar River. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a delightful time here at Southerlands Pond. Southerlands Pond is not far at                  all from Henderson, and get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Little Fishing Creek. Summertime highs at Southerlands Pond mostly tend to be in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
