South Lake usually gets a great deal of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is April. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Sleep Inn Henderson is a tremendous choice, and not far from South Lake you'll find Roland Pond which       is a scenic lake. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Henderson, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Vance-Granville Institute Pond. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at South Lake. Lots of folks from Henderson come to South Lake, and South Lake Dam has brilliant water scenery. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to South Lake, and the overnight is a tad chillier of course, mostly                  in the 60's. All through the wintertime highs are generally in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for South Lake tend to be in the 20's. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Little Fishing Creek, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Mill Creek.
