Don't forget to stop by Boranges Point if you're here at South Lake, and Sundial Inn is a great place to get some rest. South Lake gets a lot of water; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is November. Don't leave South Lake without first going for a hike along the Thomas Hariot Nature Trail; after a long day outdoors Elizabethan Inn is       a splendid spot to spend a night or two. You'll meet a lot of folks from Kill Devil Hills here; Cape Hatteras National Seashore is a good local destination. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at South Lake. There's so much to do here at South Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cypress Cove Campground is a tremendous location for that. For the period of the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at South Lake while night lows                  are usually in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are frequently in the 50's, and night lows at South Lake through the winter usually drop into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful.
