Do visit Smiths Lake Dam if you're here at Smiths Lake, and get your pulse rate up on the glorious whitewater of Mayo River - North Fork. All the water falling down from the sky makes Smiths Lake a wet spot; July is the month that gets the most rain while December is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. At Smiths Lake you always meet someone from Martinsville, and camping at Dan River Campground is always a fine experience.

Near Smiths Lake you come across a golf course called Lynrock Golf Club, and dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Eden. Smiths Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Smiths Lake dipping down into the 20's throughout
winter nights. So much entertaining stuff to do here at Smiths Lake, too fine to be true. A lake nearby is Tuttles Lake, and there's whitewater on North Mayo for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
