It's always fun to stop by Smiths Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Cape Fear, and hiking along the Group Camp Trail is splendid fun. | | down it dips down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 50's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Smiths Lake dip into the 20's.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Smiths Lake a wet site; the wettest month of the year is generally July, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is November. This is a popular spot for folks from Dunn; Fayetteville Koa is a glorious campground here. | |

Smiths Lake is a brilliant site to camp, Lazy Acres is a brilliant site, and going for a hike along the Little Creek Loop Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Upper
Little River is so much fun, and if you've had enough of Smiths Lake, Barnes Lake is nearby. A tremendous nearby hotel is Americas Best Value Inn, and you can have a brilliant hiking adventure along the American Beech Trail.
