Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Catawba River - South Fork; Smith Pond is not the only site close by, Episcopal Church Lake is a close by lake. Any time is a wonderful time at Smith Pond if you fancy the outdoors. During your tour to Smith Pond you'll meet some people from Lincolnton for sure; not far from Smith Pond you obtain some wonderful water scenery at Smith       Pond Dam. This lake is so wonderful. One of the main highlights of the surroundings of Smith Pond is Reese Mountain, and Tuckers Grove Campground is a glorious local campground. Smith Pond is a quite wet place mostly with a good deal of rain; May is the month that gets the most rain, and April on the other hand is the driest. A quick visit to Armstrong Branch near Smith Pond is a nice idea, and Smith Pond is a wonderful site to visit for more than one day,                  Cross Country Campground is a wonderful site to camp nearby. A fine close by hotel is Days Inn Lincolnton. If you need a site to stay Comfort Inn Lincolnton is a tremendous choice, needless to say you could also check out Catfish Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. During the warm months at Smith Pond temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
