I have 3 young children and they had a BLAST! We plan on going again very soon. Bathrooms were clean and out of some of the campsites I've been to this is the one I like. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Smith Lake has to offer, you can camp at Rockfish Outdoor Center. If you need a spot to stay Suburban Extended Stay Of Fayetteville is a great choice, also Smith Lake Dam is worth taking a look at while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something close to Smith Lake? Bonnie Doone Lake is close       by, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Fish Camp Trail. There are some great whitewater spots on Cape Fear, and there's glorious hiking along the American Beech Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because King's Grant Golf Club is in the neighborhood. The high level of rain makes Smith Lake a pretty wet site; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and November is when it's the driest.                  Be careful coming to Smith Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. The Group Camp Trail offers hiking at its best; you can stay the night at Lazy Acres. Summer at Smith Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Smith Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
