Don't forget to take a great little visit to Bailey Creek. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Skilpot Lake has to offer, you can camp at Thousand Trails. At Skilpot Lake you always meet someone from Winston-Salem, and paddling on South Yadkin River is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. A beautiful lake like Coon Lake in the vicinity of Skilpot Lake is a good place to take a look at; Skilpot Lake is a good site to visit for more than one

| | day, Tanglewood Family Resort is a good site to camp nearby. For the period of the warm days of summer here at Skilpot Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Skilpot Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Skilpot Lake. For you golfers we recommend close by Salem | |

Glen Country Club, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express CLEMMONS (WINSTON/SALEM AREA) is a splendid site to spend a night or two. Do check out Mallard Lake in close proximity to Skilpot Lake, it's a charming lake, and
if you need a place to stay Village Inn Golf & Conference Center is a fine choice.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Skilpot Lake a wet site; throughout March this area sees the most rain, and November on the other
hand is the driest. Fred Bahnson Number Two Dam has great water scenery and it's next to Skilpot Lake; whitewater paddling is great on Yadkin River.
