It's always fun to stop by Sims Pond. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend nearby Boone Golf Club, and the top of Bull Mountain is easily observed from Sims Pond. Just can't get enough of Sims Pond. There are brilliant places to look at along the Yancey Ridge Trail, and a wonderful nearby hotel is Ridgeway Inn. For the period of the months of summer highs here at Sims Pond reach the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout

| | the wintertime are in the 40's while Sims Pond night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. A splendid site for whitewater paddling near Sims Pond is Watauga River. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Sims Pond has to offer, you can camp at Honey Bear Campground. for a wonderful time. After a long day outdoors Blowing Rock Victorian Inn B&B is a nice site to spend a night or two, and you can run the rapids of Boone Fork. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Sims Pond. People
from Boone love to come to Sims Pond; an interesting thing to stop by in close proximity to Sims Pond is Sims Pond. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. Not far from Sims Pond, you'll come across Heart Lake
which is a picturesque lake, and going for a hike on the Daniel Boone Scout Trail is always a great adventure. Sims Pond commonly gets a good deal of rain; most of the rain falls during May while December is generally the driest
month. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. There's so much to do here at Sims Pond that you need
to camp here for a while, Camp Sky Ranch is a tremendous spot for that, and Appalachian Mountain is a good local ski area. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Trout Lake; the skiing at Hawksnest is good.
