Playing golf is lots of fun at River Crest Golf Club; you can stay the night at Lake Hickory RV Resort. At Sims Pond through the long summer days highs are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; overnight lows at Sims Pond during the wintertime ordinarily drop into the 20's. Not far from Sims Pond, you'll stumble on Shuford Pond which is a delightful lake, and swing by Rock       Creek it's a perfect place to check out. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Sims Pond, for example Fox Lake, and Pine Mountain Campground is a glorious campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of the Blue Ridge Mountains. NC Noname Two-Hundred Thirty-Nine Dam is worth a visit since you're here, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Yadkin River. And that's                  not all you can do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of Elk Creek, and a nice nearby hotel is Quality Inn & Suites. Sims Pond regularly gets a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily August, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Park Inn Hickory is a pleasant site to get some rest, and if you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Hickory-Morganton-Lenoir.
