This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. Sims Pond is a good place to visit for more than one day, Lake Hickory RV Resort is a good place to camp nearby, and do stop at NC Noname Two-Hundred Thirty-Nine Dam since you're here. Having a magnificent time in the Blue Ridge Mountains is simple. There's whitewater on Yadkin River for all you adrenaline junkies; if you need a place to stay Park Inn Hickory       is a wonderful choice. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites, and Pine Mountain Campground is a delightful local campground. Sims Pond is a wet place that gets a large amount of precipitation; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January. Summertime highs at Sims Pond typically tend to be in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures                  are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Sims Pond during the winter frequently sink into the 20's. This place, Sims Pond, it truly has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Golf can be played at River Crest Golf Club, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Hickory-Morganton-Lenoir. This lake is so wonderful.
