Beautiful Silver Lake has much to offer visitors. Going for a hike on the Group Camp Trail is always a splendid adventure; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Cary, Nc. A good deal of precipitation falls at Silver Lake; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and April on the other hand is the driest. Just can't get enough of Silver Lake. Lakes? Sure, Lake Johnson is in close proximity; on a glorious day you can take

| | a hike along the West Loop Horse Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Champion Cheerleading Camps is always a tremendous experience. This lake is so wonderful. Dover Pond A Dam is a striking place next to Silver Lake, and an afternoon playing golf at Lochmere Golf Club is always a joy. The warmest time of the year at Silver Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with winter lows
in the 20's overnight here at Silver Lake. You'll meet a lot of people from Raleigh-Cary here; camping is available at Dream Camps. Get dripping wet paddling on Neuse River, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the East Loop Horse Trail.

Guys Pond

Guy's Pond is a great place to fish. As of my latest fishing trip on 1/25/2009, it was $3 per person and $4 per night camping. Also, 14 years of age and younger were free! This is a great pond. While you are fishing, you can watch the cows, and/or the horses. The pond is much better than Pope's Lake. They kicked us out of that lake on the same day as my trip to Guy's Pond. I rate this pond as a 10 and suggest anyone in the area looking for a fishing hole should try Guy's Pond.... |
