In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Catawba River - South Fork, and needless to say, this is a fine neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Sparrow Springs Lake is a lake nearby. If you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SHELBY EAST - KINGS MOUNTAIN is a wonderful choice, and Kings Branch is a good whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
