Dry warm beds await you at SpringHill Suites Winston-Salem, and you can have a perfect hiking adventure along the Cascade Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Cooks Wall Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Yadkin River. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Clinard Lake, and hiking along the Moores Knob Trail is brilliant fun. | | most rain, and November is the month with the least moisture. Shattalon Lake in fact is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. Camping at Tanglewood Family Resort is always a pleasant experience, and Shattalon Lake Dam is an attention-grabbing thing to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Shattalon Lake. There are some good whitewater spots on Dan River. All through the summer months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Shattalon Lake, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Shattalon Lake are in the 20's.

 | 19 miles away Hwy 772 access as been roped off with No-Trespassing signs. This access is used a lot during the summer months, but evidently it is private property or someone is confused.
