Near Shattalon Lake you stumble on a golf course called Grandview Golf Club, and if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Cooks Wall Trail. At Shattalon Lake you always meet someone from Winston-Salem, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Yadkin River. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Shattalon       Lake. Stay the night at Pioneer Village Family Campground, and on a splendid day you can take a hike along the Moores Knob Trail. After a long day outdoors Courtyard By Marriott Hanes Mall is a great spot to spend a night or two. Lakes are wonderful; Clinard Lake is a lake that's near Shattalon Lake. There's some flowing water close by, Bill Branch is a stream you can go to during your stay, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Dan River. Shattalon                  Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is November. Tanglewood Family Resort is a great campground here; the Cascade Trail is a glorious hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Suites Winston-Salem is a great place to get some rest, and Shattalon Lake Dam is an exciting thing to check out. For the duration of the summer highs here at Shattalon Lake reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's.
