Saylor Lake is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain; July is when you get the most rain here, and October on the other hand is the driest. There is a magnificent hiking trail near Saylor Lake called the Stamping Ground Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Toe River - South offers some wonderful whitewater.
