If you came for an overnight stay Colington Park Campground is a splendid location to camp, and after a long day outdoors Elizabethan Inn is a nice place to spend a night or two. If you're here at Sawyer Lake, do take a trip to Boat Bay; Cape Hatteras National Seashore is a splendid national park. Camping is available at Cypress Cove Campground, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from       close by Kill Devil Hills. And if that's not sufficient, there's heaps more to do next to Sawyer Lake. Near Sawyer Lake you find the Thomas Hariot Nature Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. Sawyer Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly July, that's the one that rains the most while November is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the summertime months at Sawyer Lake highs are generally in the                  80's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Sawyer Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
