Man, is there plenty of entertaining things to do in close proximity to Sawyer Lake. Elizabethan Inn is a perfect site to get some rest; swamps don’t sound that tremendous but Sandy Ridge Gut near Sawyer Lake is pretty tremendous. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Sundial Inn is a wonderful choice, and Sawyer Lake is not the only place close by, East Lake is       a close by lake. Sawyer Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; during July this area sees the most rain while November is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Boat Bay is near Sawyer Lake and is a magnificent location to stop by. If you get bored of Sawyer Lake, you could also pop by nearby South Lake, and if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Thomas Hariot Nature Trail. Why not camp at Colington Park Campground while you're here                  at Sawyer Lake; there are plenty of people from Kill Devil Hills here at Sawyer Lake. Camping is available at Cypress Cove Campground, and Cape Hatteras National Seashore is a fine local destination. Through the long summer days at Sawyer Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
