All year is a good time in the Great Smoky Mountains if you go for the outdoors. The view of charming Funnel Top near Santeetlah Lake is glorious, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Santeetlah Lake; Stiffknee Trail is a great local trail. Lakes are magnificent; Cheoah Lake is a lake that's right next door to Santeetlah Lake, and why not camp at Ceoah Paint Campground while you're here at Santeetlah Lake. This       is a magnificent region for people who like lakes. Cheoah Valley Lake is a lake in the vicinity; magnificent hiking is available along the Long Hungry Ridge Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Great Smoky Mountains. Some of the water close by flows, like Attooga Branch, and you can take a little tour to Santeetlah Dam while you're here at Santeetlah Lake. Santeetlah Lake is a pretty wet place usually with much rain; most of the rain                  falls during March, and October meanwhile is the driest month. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Santeetlah Lake. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Santeetlah River, and Brooks Gap is another great location to take a look at nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Inn - Murphy is a perfect location to get some rest, and Rattler Ford Campground is a tremendous local campground. Throughout the long summer days, highs frequently are in the 80's at Santeetlah Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Santeetlah Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. A delightful spot for whitewater paddling near Santeetlah Lake is Yellow Creek. This lake is one of the great places here in the Great Smoky Mountains. This lake is so wonderful.
