Bens Creek is a great place to stop at, and Outdoor World Corp is a pleasant local campground. Go for a hike on the Discovery Loop Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Battleboro. Throughout the summer months highs here at Ryders Pond reach the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Ryders Pond dipping down into       the 20's through winter nights. Don't leave Ryders Pond without first going for a hike along the Summit Loop Trail; after a long day outdoors Hilton Garden Inn Roanoke Rapids / Carolina Crossroads is a magnificent place to spend a night or two. What a site this is for outdoors people. All the water falling down from the sky makes Ryders Pond a wet location; July is when you get the most rain here while April is regularly the driest month. This lake is                  so wonderful.
