Ross Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Golf can be played at Pine Grove Golf Club. Camping at Ross Pond is great fun, Kings Mountain State Park is a great local campground, and after a long day outdoors Value Place Shelby is a good place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Kings Branch is a delightful whitewater spot next to Ross Pond, and Ross Pond is a place with many visitors from Shelby. You can run

For the period of the summer months at Ross Pond temperatures are generally in the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Ross Pond. The high level of rainfall makes Ross Pond a rather wet site; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture.
