The snow is glorious at Hawksnest, and in the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Watauga River. Near Rosasco Lake Upper you discover the Iron Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail. Lakes are great; Potato Hill Lake is a lake that's close to Rosasco Lake Upper. There is a fine hiking trail in the vicinity of Rosasco Lake Upper called the Yancey Ridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to encounter

rest. Rosasco Lake Upper is a pretty wet place typically with much rain; most of the rain falls through May while December is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A good nearby hotel is Sugar Ski and Country Club,
and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Sugar Mountain. What a site this is for outdoors people. On a great day at Rosasco Lake Upper you can take a hike along the Daniel Boone Scout Trail; don't leave Rosasco
Lake Upper without first paying a visit to Dutch Creek Falls. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff right next door to Rosasco Lake Upper. Flintlock Campground is a good local campground, and Baird Creek is in the vicinity of
Rosasco Lake Upper and is always a diversion to explore. From Rosasco Lake Upper you get a glorious view of Baird Mountain, and if you want to check out some interesting stuff, check out Hayes Bluff. All through the summer highs
here at Rosasco Lake Upper reach the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's while Rosasco Lake Upper night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
