Roland Pond is a good place of normal rain; July is the wettest month with most rain while November is commonly the driest month. You don’t have to go far from Roland Pond to catch a glimpse of the water at Rowland Pond Dam; Pounder Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth a visit. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Tar River, and camping is available at Nutbush Bridge
