This lake is so wonderful. The Uwharrie National Recreation Trail is a good hiking trail close to Ritchies Lake; a magnificent close by hotel is Sleep Inn Albemarle. During the warm months at Ritchies Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Ritchies Lake. There's so       much to do here at Ritchies Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cotton Patch Gold Mine is a delightful location for that, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Uwharrie River. Ritchies Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is November. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Albemarle, Nc is a fine site to get some rest; get your heart                  pumping on the great whitewater of Rocky River. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Ritchies Lake Dam is an interesting thing to check out.
